This is a 3D video of fufu production plant, which introduces the whole process of fufu flour production. Fufu flour, derived from fresh cassava roots, is a staple food in several African countries such as Nigeria, Ivory Coast, and DR Congo. Its whole production process consists of three sections: cleaning, processing and drying.

Cleaning section of fufu flour production plant

The cleaning process is an essential step in all cassava processing facilities. In this 3d video, firstly newly harvested raw cassava tubers will be put into a feeding hopper, and then through the bottom vibration device, they will be sent to the belt conveyor at uniform speed. After that, cassava roots will be cleaned firstly in a dry sieve machine, and washed completely in a paddle washer machine.

Processing section of fufu flour production plant

In the processing section, cassava roots undergo specific treatment to produce fufu flour. Unlike other cassava products, fufu flour requires the peeling of cassava roots. Sand roller design peeling machine is adopted here, which can remove the first and second layers of cassava roots. And then, peeled cassava will be sent into a cutting machine, which cut full pieces of cassava into small pieces. These small cassava pieces are collected and transported via a bucket elevator to several stainless steel tanks for the fermentation process. Fermentation typically takes around 24 hours. After fermentation, cassava materials will be transported to rasper machine for complete crushing. And then cassava pulp will be pumped into plate-and-frame filter press for dehydration purpose. After dehydration, we can get wet cassava cakes with moisture content around 40%.

Drying section of fufu flour production plant

In the drying section, the wet cassava cakes will be crushed into fine wet powder firstly, and then will be sent to the flash dryer machine for last step drying. After drying, the result is dried flour with a moisture content of around 14%, ideal for storage. For high-quality fufu flour, a fine miller machine is used to further refine the dried flour. Finally, a sieving machine separates coarse flour particles, producing a high-quality end product. If desired, a packaging machine can be incorporated to facilitate automated bagging of the fufu flour.
