Traditionally, people manufacture garri by hand, but they cannot achieve large-scale production of garri and need lots of labor work. Therefore, more and more equipment is developed to produce garri. Garri is manufactured from cassava roots through the process of cassava cleaning, washing, peeling, crushing, fermentation, dehydration, frying and sieving. Normally about 4 tons of fresh cassava roots can produce 1 ton garri, and the actual yield will depend on the quality of cassava roots.

The equipment for manufacturing garri

In garri manufacturing line, main equipment suggested are like cassava peeler, cassava grater, hydraulic press, garri fryer and vibration sieve machine.

Cassava peeler

For manufacturing garri, a cassava peeler is needed to peeling the skins of raw cassava. We adopt new design sand roller peeling machine. It can remove the first and the second layer of cassava tubers, with perfect peeling effect. The machine can ensure high quality of finished garri.

Cassava grater

After peeling, the next step for manufacturing garri is crushing cassava. Peeled cassava tubers will be put into the grater machine for crushing. The machine can be made of carbon steel or stainless steel, and the drive mode can be electrical engine or diesel engine. Clients can choose the type according to their own needs.

Hydraulic press

After crushing, cassava mash will be put into bags for fermentation, which will take about 2 days. After fermentation, cassava mash will be put into hydraulic press for dewatering. The machine can press cassava mash in bags and squeeze out water. Finally we can get cassava with moisture content around 40%.

Garri fryer

After the dewatering process, the next step for manufacturing garri is frying, after which we get finished garri. The garri fryer can fry cassava automatically, saving labor works as well as ensuring that there is no paste phenomenon during the frying process. For heating system, we have three designs: the electric, diesel and gas. Clients can choose the most economic one based on their local market.

Vibration sieve

The last step for manufacturing garri is sieving, and a vibration sieve machine will be used to produce high quality garri. Crude fibers and large garri particles will be separated by this screening equipment. Then the qualified garri can be packed and sold to the market.
