1. Cassava washing and peeling machine: Soil, sand and other debris can be washed away. Peeling involves removing the gray-brown skin of the cassava tubers to expose the white flesh.

2. Grater: This machine is a key process in Gari processing. The function of it is to destroy the composition of cassava which aims to extract grated cassava from raw cassava tubers and grate it into cassava mash and puree.It can often process up to 4 tons of raw cassava in one day.

3. Hydraulic Press: This machine comes with a hydraulic jack that is higher than others and adopts automatic control system which can squeezes all the water out of the mashed cassava easily.

4. Sieving machine: This is the machine that separates the fibre/lumps from the grated, mashed and pressed cassava before frying.

5. Garri fryer: Basically, garri fryer can be devided into two types, that is mechanical garri fryer and metal trays. This mechanical garri fryer appears in form of machine with stainless steel drum, rotary conveyor and paddles fixed along the conveyor to a rotation in the same axis of the drum. Although it is much more expensive,it can process more gari in the same time and save labor.

A small scale processing plant with the full range of machines can produce up to 1 ton of gari (about twenty 50kg bags) in a day. If you are on a tight budget, you could remove the mechanical fryer and peeling machine from your list since they are the two most expensive options.
